Hello fellow Bigpicturestuffers,
Livia ‘ere, and I’ve just coined a new name for you awesome people that hopefully Val and Vess will approve of!
Spring racing is currently in the midst and seriously… Who cares about the horses when you’ve got beautiful ladies (and we can’t forget the dapper men) parading around in lovely dresses (and suits) and wearing crazy fascinating designs on their heads (and hats), which are possibly only aesthetically acceptable this one time of the year!
This year I managed to go to the Caufield Cup, where I wore this lovely oriental inspired deep blue dress.
What attracted me to this dress was its colour – a deep blue metallic sheen in the material, its puffy hemmed silhouette, and its lovely capped sleeves. But I think I’m also just a sucker for pieces of clothing that emit an oriental vibe from them, no doubt from the pattern on the cloth and its high neck detailing.
Must be my inner Chinese calling me to connect with my roots.
I paired this dress with a forest green pair of killer heels from Tony Bianco. And ladies… I’ve learnt my lesson. When I say killer, these heels eventually killed me even though I had spent the week wearing them around the house to ensure I would survive the day. Lesson learned. But damn, I think they go perfectly with the dress; something about those two colours just wanted to be paired with one another. I had another pair or green shoes I was considering but I felt that a deep forest green matched the lovely blue much better. So in the end, I have no regrets (can I say YOLO or is that too lame? Whatever, YOLO), beauty is pain my dears, beauty is pain!
Hope you are all enjoying the lovely spring weather (FINALLY)!
Until next time,
Lots of love Livia x
