I’m Vivien, the littlest of the three v’s. A recent graduate out of high school, I am about to endeavour on a new journey. A journey of uni, the real world and being a legal adult. Val was ecstatic when she scooped me up and threw me into Big Picture Stuff. So now due to Val’s enthusiastic nature there is gonna be lots more food post on my behalf.
I have only recently discovered my love for baking. It’s the one thing that I love doing to relax. I love setting time aside for myself and have a moment which I truly enjoy. Although some people find it stressful to have to measure all the ingredients and hope with all their heart that it doesn’t come out burnt or not baked all the way through; I live to learn from those mistakes and find joy in the victories of having a gorgeous baked good by the end of the process.
As I fell more and more in love with baking I decided that I wanted to try mix-and-match ideas of different recipes and see how they turn out. A rich chocolate base with light buttercream and a hint of caramel to sweeten every bite seemed like the perfect combo. As soon as I found an excuse to create this gorgeous cake, I made the most of the event and the cake turned out amazing.
