Hello fellow Dreamers, Creatives and Explorers!

We would like to welcome you to the month of September! As we warmly greet the start of Melbourne Spring time, of longer days and warmer mornings, we also acknowledge  that half of 2014 is now behind us.

At this time of year, what we have encountered, people who either; have dreams, are working towards their dreams, or are still yet to discover what their dream might be.

For most of us, we may be nearing the end of a school year, a university semester, another job, or even a big adventure. And all too often we can find ourselves at a bit of a crossroads, concerning where we see ourselves or whether our present circumstances match to our dreams.

As we ourselves (Val and Vess!) are in the midst of a first job, two internships and freelance work, we have been lucky enough to be encouraged and inspired along the way. The journey to reaching ones dreams is not dependent on simply luck and good fortunate (although it is always welcomed) but is often filled with resilience, questioning, self evaluation and persistence. It takes courage and bravery, not in a loud robust way, but in a quiet independent strength that comes from an unshakable hope that your dreams will someday become a reality.

So that’s what we want to do. This month, you question your future in Year 12, as you work in that internship, as you send numerous job applications, we want to be there for you. We want to remind you everyday, that you have the capacity to be who you desire to be and create all that you have dreamt in your imagination. We want to be there for you, to provide you with stories of hope and passion, stories of people who have “done it too”. We want you to come here and be motivated and refreshed, especially when the times get tough. You can do it. We want you to. 🙂

With Love
Val and Vess

Outfit Details:
Dress: Vintage from K I N G D O M
Sunglasses: Festival Specs

I’m extremely excited to share these images with you guys. It’s truly a combination of a number of beautiful elements and little details that make this one of my most favourite outfit posts ever. Our location, Barcelona Spain, our setting, the gorgeous apartment from Airbnb hosts Philona, our outfit, a rosy tailored vintage number that told a story of elegance and grace. The sun was shining, and we were feeling like the luckiest girls in the world.

Moments like makes us pinch ourselves and us question “is this really happening?” Having the opportunity to travel halfway across the world to the place of art, architecture and sangria. If given the opportunity, we would be back there in an instant. What also made our stay so special was our stay in this gorgeous Spanish apartment. We really lucked out on this one.

Our dear friend and travel buddy Emily found this place on Airbnb and we were instantly drawn to it. After looking at a number of other options we decided to go with the “fancy one” and a few weeks later we were making our way towards the apartment of our dreams.

Phil and Fiona, our airbnb hosts, truly outdid themselves with creating a beautiful place for wide eye travellers to call a home. So did we feel like fancy senoritas living an opulent lifestyle filled with slow days and countless memories. You better believe we did.

Hey there

If you had told me at the start of the year, that I would be taking photos with Val on the streets of London, while parading around with top, that flew delicately in the breeze, I would promptly had said, “Not a chance.” In all honesty, the possibility of that occurring was as likely as me wearing a pair of wide legged pants.

It all seemed all together too lofty, too idealistic and much too impossible.

But here we are. Photographic proof that I did indeed do a photo shoot on the London streets. And I did indeed wear wide legged striped pants. Christian Dior silk ones as a matter of fact! And I wore a delightful top, one that had structure, grace, and delicate surprises.

But what else did we do that exceeded the boundaries of the impossible?

We ate a scotch egg at Borough Market, saw Matisse’s collages at the TATE Modern, saw Billy Elliot at the West End, had Brick Lane bagels, sat in the courtyard of the V&A and walked past the queens palace. And to name a few more, Encountered beauty at the portrait gallery, walked beneath the green of Hyde Park, devoured a Lobster in Soho, met up with old friends and walked beneath shadow of the tower bridge.

So ladies and gents, London certainly surpassed our expectations and left us wanting more.

But you want to know the most impossible thing that happened in London?

It was sunny.

Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts, Jan, Arthur, Will and Yesmean, we loved our time in London and you made it incredible!

xx

Park Guell Barcelona

‘Colours, light, beauty and creation.’

These were the underlying themes of the architect, Antoni Gaudi, an innovator, a dreamer and the central figure behind the visual iconography of Barcelona and the creator of this magical and playful park. Park Guell, which is the backdrop of this present fashion post, was the dream housing estate of Gaudi who designed everything from the water system, to the seats, to the columns. All inspired by nature. As you can see the architecture is not typical of the standard straight lines of traditional houses. Rather it is like a symphony of colour, of form and of mosaics. As your eyes survey the landscape everything seems to curve and wind away from what we consider to be the norm and open our eyes to a new world of Park Guell, a world pulsing with life, colours and creativity.

Here’s a little snippet of our Barcelona adventure, looking back on my (Val) travel posts, I have so much more photos and places to share with you! Thankyou to Amy, who asked Vess to share some photos from Barcelona. If there is a particular place you would like to see photos from, please, don’t hesitate to ask. I love sharing them with you!

For those travelling to Barcelona, Park Guell is definitely worth the trip, it is a bit of a trek up a hill (there are a few escalators to help you up there) but the beauty and the magic is breathtaking. Bring a packed lunch and don’t forget to buy your ticket online first! Or they unfortunately won’t let you in.

I always forget to do this(write about the clothes !) Vess wears; skirt from Italy, Top from Zara in London and necklace from Collete

Will be posting more soon dear friends!

Grazie
