Hey there

If you had told me at the start of the year, that I would be taking photos with Val on the streets of London, while parading around with top, that flew delicately in the breeze, I would promptly had said, “Not a chance.” In all honesty, the possibility of that occurring was as likely as me wearing a pair of wide legged pants.

It all seemed all together too lofty, too idealistic and much too impossible.

But here we are. Photographic proof that I did indeed do a photo shoot on the London streets. And I did indeed wear wide legged striped pants. Christian Dior silk ones as a matter of fact! And I wore a delightful top, one that had structure, grace, and delicate surprises.

But what else did we do that exceeded the boundaries of the impossible?

We ate a scotch egg at Borough Market, saw Matisse’s collages at the TATE Modern, saw Billy Elliot at the West End, had Brick Lane bagels, sat in the courtyard of the V&A and walked past the queens palace. And to name a few more, Encountered beauty at the portrait gallery, walked beneath the green of Hyde Park, devoured a Lobster in Soho, met up with old friends and walked beneath shadow of the tower bridge.

So ladies and gents, London certainly surpassed our expectations and left us wanting more.

But you want to know the most impossible thing that happened in London?

It was sunny.

Thank you so much to our wonderful hosts, Jan, Arthur, Will and Yesmean, we loved our time in London and you made it incredible!

xx

Hey there!

Having been apart from Vess for the past six months have been difficult. Not having my design buddy, photographer and convenient fashion model has created a very large ‘Vess shaped’ hole in my life. It’s been challenging to whip out my camera, to write blog posts and to think creatively when I don’t have my creative partner in crime with me.

Despite the void that Vess has created in my life, I’ve been so blessed to have my friends to help me get through it. Rach being one of them. Always up for supporting Big Picture Stuff and encouraging out writing, photography and design antic, she is one valued friend.

Feeling reflective today as I read back on my last blog post Munich: Travel thoughts.  It seems that I may need to apply and take a piece of my own advice. Why you may ask?  Well, I am embarking on a new journey. One that will hopefully push my out of my comfort zones, force me to be self reliant and hopefully leave me a better and more wiser individual. (Or leave me with stories of countless of unfortunate circumstances).

This is amazing journey is….that I am going solo travelling around Europe for the first time! I know, may travellers have gone before me and done solo travelling. Some even prefer it. But being a twin from a close knit family it is very rare that I am completely on my own, with no one to back me up or to help me on the way.  I’m anticipating some great stories to tell of typical ‘Val moments’ and excited to share the stories I obtain, things I discover as I attempt to make my way across Portugal, Italy and France.

I’m sure it’ll be as delightful as these daisies decorating Rach’s head!

Hello Friends

TGI Fridays Welcomes you to BURGER BLIND DATE. Grab a menu, eye up the talent & make your choice. It’s going to be LUST at first bite”

What comes to mind when hearing the words, ‘Blind Date’?  Fear? Anticipation? Excitement? Curiosity? An innate desire to run and hide? Couple with these words with the even more deliciously emotive word; Burger and these emotions escalate and taking hold of your imagination as well as your stomach. And with that, Big Picture Stuff would love to present TGI Friday’s Burger Blind Date night a celebration of TGI Friday’s NEW Handcrafted Burger Menu.

A tasty, deliciously fun and overwhelming filling event which sought to match Leeds bloggers with their perfect Burger match. TGI Fridays went above and beyond helping bloggers look for a cheesy, saucy and juicy type of love in all the right ways.  Deliciously enticing and luscious, my date of choice for the night, The Monster did not disappoint.  Two burgers piled high with Sam Adams beer cheese sauce, crispy bacon, caramelised onion and mayo with a side of delightful sweet and potato chips drizzled with mayo and sauce left me fully stuffed and anticipating my second date with this tasty creation.

If these photos and my descriptive words haven’t left your mouth watering, I don’t know what will! But don’t worry we like to look after our readers.

To help satisfy your cravings for some hand crafted burger goodness Big Picture Stuff with TGI Friday’s is excited to giveaway  a £50 TGI Fridays voucher.

(Unfortunately this giveaway is limited to our UK readers, as this menu is unique to the TGI Fridays UK!)

Comment below or the post on our instagram or facebook page, your name and a friend’s name who would want to go on a Burger Blind Date with for your chance to WIN!

And yes, that beautiful creature in the photoframe on the left in the last photo is yours truly. As part of their release of the new burger range TGI Fridays  has also created the hashtag #burgerface. An expression used when one first sets eyes on and sinks their teeth into these delicious burgers.

Hello Dear Ones!

I am happy to say that I am so very lucky to be back in one of my most favourite cities. London!

London has so much going on, so many things to see, things to eat, things to discover,  things to buy. Planning on visiting a vintage market today. Definitely will need to hold back from buying EVERYTHING.

Featured here is one of my few attempts at street photography and a few casual photos of Nottinghill. We had asked this lovely lady for directions (typical tourists) and being overly curious and talkative I asked where her bag was from. I mean, look at it (like really, scroll back up and look), don’t you reckon it’s one of the most perfect examples of upcycling old school and super cool fashion?

To my shock,  ladies and gentleman, this darling, super cool, super recyclable cassette bag, was not by a designer, not by some worker, not by a chain store but…..HANDMADE!

I was in proper awe, that someone could possibly be so amazingly talented and gifted to actually make their own bag.

I’m not sure if my attempts at making my own bag would be wearable but this lady seriously showed me anything is possible.

So I’m planning on searching my home for any super cool items which, which some help of some wire, I may be able to fashion together to something equally as cool.

Will be back to posting more content with you dear friends. Since assignments are over (yay! I survived a semester in Leeds!) I’m keeping my eyes on the BigPictureStuff  and would love for you to do the same!

Much Love
Val
