Hello there friends!
I am now one step closer to being English!
Say hello to my new hunter boots! I have had alot of wonderful people complimenting me on my very ‘English’ purchase of wellies. These compliments probably stem from Hunter‘s notorious reputation as a very ‘hunted’ after brand by both English and UK audiences. (Sorry for the inclusion of the pun, I couldn’t resist). It was quite an impromptu purchase, resulting from the miserable conditions my socks and shoes were in after a very rainy day spent at Liverpool.
To be honest, I have always wanted a pair of wellies. Even before I left Melbourne I nearly purchased a pair under the preposition that English people must wear wellies in order to survive the winter. To try and justify my purchase, I googled ‘do english people were gumboots?’ to which a very lovely picture of Kate Middleton popped up. At the time, purchasing gum boots in the Melbourne 40 degree weather (that’s in Celsius, my dear American friends) seemed absurd so I delayed my purchase till now.
Featured in this post as well are some very cute crocheted letters by the amazing Rachael from suitcasehome.com who I believe can single handedly make knitting the next ‘cool’ thing of 2014. Watch this space, she can do it.
Wearing a new dress from RiverIsland (15 pounds), tights from home and MARC Jacobs coat from Salvos and Hunters. This new dress was another quick birthday present to myself. I love the delicate pattern of the print and the collar makes it simply the most perfect dress!
Now to perfect an English accent, and maybe I can convince them to let me stay here!
