This world is but a canvas to our imagination
—Henry David Thoreau-
One of the most difficult things to hold onto in growth and in life is the simplicity of creativity. When it really didn’t matter what colour your mixed on your palette, but all that mattered was the fun of play. Playing with strokes of paint, bold splashes of colour, in playful acts we learnt, created, formed and shaped new canvases of pure joy.
Playfulness is by no means restricted to our younger years. Nor is it restricted to art. Playfulness is something that should extend to fashion, work, friendships and life in general. There’s something wonderful being able to play intentionally, knowing whatever you create will be a product of your joy! It really makes one throw aside preconceived conventions, like, pink and blue really shouldn’t mix, or don’t make random collages from photos. It also makes you play with the notion that a fashion accessory has to be boring and generic. Here’s where Festival Specs comes in.
We are super excited to be sharing our collaboration with London based designer Sunglass brand Festival Specs. You only need to google them to see how fun, quirky and epically amazing this brand is.
’70’s inspired round sunglasses in a set with six pairs of differently coloured interchangeable lenses, frames and a fun case’
In styling this shoot, we honestly had a crazy amount of possibilities. Style an accessory that has six colourful interchangeable frames? The possibilities were endless! Working on this shoot really helped us unleash our inner child. We just had a load of fun with the brightest of colours and with a bunch of paint, collaging it all together in the best of ways!
Thanks so much to Festival Specs for collaborating with us! The wonderful people at Festival Specs also did an interview with us on their blog, where we answer amazing questions such as “Do you have a secret crush on someone?” So head on over to their blog if you’re dying to find the answer to that!
