I’m not sure if I like having my picture taken. I can be quite nervous when I’m the one placed infront of the camera.
So many photographers dislike being in front of the lens.Perhaps it’s the awkwardness, the fear or even the lack of trust in others that stops us from relinquishing the power we have over our own image and into the creative control of another. Over the years I have found myself being less controlling to being more constructive. Yes, there will be unflattering photos taken of me and yes, they may not always show my best side but isn’t that all part of being human? Showing that, indeed we do have parts of our bodies we may not like or want to highlight. A photos may not always show a polished life but perhaps a more true one? Hopefully by posting more pictures likes these we can encourage others that the best photos are when you are truly being yourself.
These days it’s quite a rare occurrence when I am in front of a camera. I’m either out attending and shooting events or I can never find the motivation to get all dolled up for a picture. So I do feel quite special when I get my picture taken. Even though I take a lot of pictures I don’t think it has helped me and my modelling skills. So I did my very best for Liana from Her Random Outbursts as I modelled her RMIT fashion project.
Inspired by the fashion label Kinki Gerlinki, Liana’s retro piece matched beautifully with the antique setting of the vintage seller on MaLing Road. I loved wearing her dress knowing the time, effort and thought she put into making her piece. I was also surprised at how well the dress actually fit me. She didn’t have my exact measurements when she started making the dress, so we both were relieved when the dress fit!
Things have been a bit quite here, which usually means we are doing alot behind the scenes. Some projects include; a collaboration with Officeworks, Words with Heart notebook designs, some wedding invitations and alot of photo taking! Check back soon as we have some great posts in store!
