These would have to be a few of my favourite photos from our trip. We managed to get to this island, which is just off Hiroshima, as the sun was seeking to hide away behind the clouds. It was honestly, such a beautiful experience to watch the sun falling behind the vast mountains and to view its reflection against the water as we took the Ferry (which is also covered by the JR rail pass for those who are intending to travel Japan) across to the island.
I love sunsets, especially that amazing moment, when the sun seemed to have set for the day, where the yellow turns to orange, and majority of sunset watchers have wandered away. Doesn’t sound so amazing does it? But for those who wait a little bit longer, they are met with the most stunning array of colours, depth and tones, which takes my breathe away each time. Unfortunately, I do not know much background information on the shrine or the island itself, but I know the island is named, Itsukyshima Island but is more commonly known as Miyajima Island. Sorry guys, didn’t take the time to learn much history on the place, just know that its a great hiking spot !
Hoping that you guys are enjoying the great pictures from our trip and our new blog layout! Feel free to provide feedback on what you think and what you would like to see more of. Thank you so much to everyone who has been giving us such encouraging feedback and support. Seriously, makes blogging so much more fun when you know that you have people coming along the journey with you!
