‘Colours, light, beauty and creation.’
These were the underlying themes of the architect, Antoni Gaudi, an innovator, a dreamer and the central figure behind the visual iconography of Barcelona and the creator of this magical and playful park. Park Guell, which is the backdrop of this present fashion post, was the dream housing estate of Gaudi who designed everything from the water system, to the seats, to the columns. All inspired by nature. As you can see the architecture is not typical of the standard straight lines of traditional houses. Rather it is like a symphony of colour, of form and of mosaics. As your eyes survey the landscape everything seems to curve and wind away from what we consider to be the norm and open our eyes to a new world of Park Guell, a world pulsing with life, colours and creativity.
Here’s a little snippet of our Barcelona adventure, looking back on my (Val) travel posts, I have so much more photos and places to share with you! Thankyou to Amy, who asked Vess to share some photos from Barcelona. If there is a particular place you would like to see photos from, please, don’t hesitate to ask. I love sharing them with you!
For those travelling to Barcelona, Park Guell is definitely worth the trip, it is a bit of a trek up a hill (there are a few escalators to help you up there) but the beauty and the magic is breathtaking. Bring a packed lunch and don’t forget to buy your ticket online first! Or they unfortunately won’t let you in.
I always forget to do this(write about the clothes !) Vess wears; skirt from Italy, Top from Zara in London and necklace from Collete
Will be posting more soon dear friends!
