It’s no question that with the onset of a new year, the sales of gym memberships are at an all time high.
Up top on that list of resolutions, “getting fit” is a phrase that is laced with unspoken pain and premitive procrastination. It’s a phrase fuelled simply by blinding ambition.
Now I’m not one to ridicule or mock those who aim to better themselves, for I count myself as one of them. Every year I look at myself after the busy period of eating (christmas) and think that it’s high time to burn off some calories and tone myself into shape.
Heck, I even bought myself a skipping rope with the idea to skip everyday.
Now truth be told, I haven’t touched that skipping rope for three years, and 6 months ago I received a complimentary call from the gym polietly asking me why they hadn’t seen me for months. Is this year going to be drastically different? Well in this sports lux inspired outfit, perhaps it will be.
This little hat we bought at the Camberwell Market for a mere $5, the shirt I got from Val who bought it from bangkok. If you’re looking for something similar to look as I am, the epitome of fitness, I bought a similar style from sportsgirl last week, or even check out Dotti or Supre.
So with the wishy washy talk of resolutions and fitness goals aside, now to tell you how I truly feel.
Enodrophins makes you happy? No pain no gain? I much rather go with the phrase ‘fake it till you make it”.
So I ask you my friends, as you look at these images taken by the talented Val, imagine me running a marathon, swimming across the ocean, lifting weights bigger than my head.
For at least in your mind I’ll be that fitness goddess I always wished I would be.
*Val has a gym membership and goes at least 2 times a week.
**Vess hasn’t gone to the gym for a year and walks the dog maybe every second day. She might take up Zumba or Dance Dynamics. Would anyone recommend Dance Dynamics as an effective fitness builder?
