the kettle black

When things just work out well, it’s like a big hug from the sky. Moments like, when something you’ve planned runs smoothly, or when you’ve grabbed three random things from your wardrobe and they magically seem to co-ordinate.

Or how about this one, when you wake up and for once your hair is actually doing what it’s suppose to do.

All these things really just come together to make life easier, more calm, more lovely and really just better. Such was the case of us visiting the famed The Kettle Black cafe. The elements were set and we awaited the outcome.

A wonderful cousin visiting from Malaysia, Check. Said cousin loves coffee, Check. Time off work, Check. A hungry tummy from shopping. Check.

As for The Kettle Black. A beautiful clean interior of gold, white, marble and mint. Check. A wonderfully thought out menu. Check. Food that impressed. Check. Pulled pork with eggs benedict. Double Check.

Safe to say, we left that place satisfied, happy and all hugged up.

Kettle Black is definitely one of my favourite brunch spots! Granted waiting for a table can take a while, especially on weekends, but it’s really worth the wait. Have you gone back there since? If you haven’t, you should make it a point to try their hotcakes with a cup of coffee to go along, which are absolutely divine as Melbourne begins to transition into cooler mornings. Doesn’t hurt either that they’re so blog-worthy!

I’m really having a bout of the Melbourne blues at the moment. How are you girls doing? 🙂

    xo, Rach

Hi rach! Oh! We must go together when you return to Melbourne for a visit! Love your writing (even in a comment!) Heard there are some great cafes in Singapore. You must go exploring for us 😉 we’re both good! Trying to hone down and finish some freelance work though! If u have any ideas for some blog posts would love your thoughts! Xox
