So I’ve heard its getting colder in Melbourne and hence people are taking out their coats, jumpers (do they call sweaters in the UK?), scarfs and winter clothing to rug up against the wind and the rain. Perfect timing to show what I have been wearing while staying in Leeds, a wonderful place to get winter outfit ideas and the up and coming trends. Here I’m wearing my favourite coat from one of the most amazing places; PRIMARK. Seriously, it’s like Kmart on steroids where the latest trends and styles are sold at cheap and affordable prices at the quickest turnover rates. Being a girl who can not turn down a bargain, PRIMARK is a training ground for self control. Admittedly I am yet to enter and leave that place without having bought something (does anyone have the same problem?)! Hence, I only allow myself to enter that dreadfully wonderful place on rare occasions (much like Joseph running away from Potipher’s wife, I know my weaknesses).
This coat and scarf is from that very place! Double breasted jackets are one of the most stylish of fashion items and this coat is simply no exception. Here I’ve matched it with my thrifted black and white collared shirt and one of my favourite skirts to give it an almost preppy and quirky look. The great thing about this coat is the length. It looks great with both jeans and skirts as the hem line finishes just in the middle of my hip and knees making it the perfect balance between coat and jacket. The scarf I got for only 2 pounds (around $4 AUD!) and have seriously worn it everywhere! So much so, that my little sister is convinced I have no other items of clothing!
Hope you enjoyed Vess’ typography work, she is one very talented and amazing chickadee!
What are your favourite winter trends this season?
