If you’re like us and you spend a lot of time in front of the computer or spend long hours sitting in front of a sheet of piece of paper working on your next project. We’ve got something that we’ll like to introduce you to! It’s called…. PODCASTS. Honestly one of our favourites things in the world, we love listening to podcasts whilst we edit photos, vectorise artwork, prepare blog posts and especially when we paint. It’s relaxing, entertaining and enriching. Something that assists in helping our mind wonder as we work on our tasks! Because we love sharing, here is four of our podcast favourites!

1. The Good Life with Jonathan Fields

Interviewing a range of different people and offering insights on varying topics, The Good Life with Jonathan Fields covers a range of topics, from interesting vocations to tips on maintaining work life balance. Often asking his guests questions that cover their life, work and process, we learn about success, purpose, value of life and also, going after what you’re passionate about. Conducting his interviews in a relaxed informal way, The Good Life with Jonathan fields is a great podcast to start your working morning with.

2. Design Matters with Debbie Millman

If anything, get stuck into this podcast because Debbie Millman’s voice is like a warm cup of tea on a winter’s day. Relaxing, calming and so so so comforting. Beside’s Debbie’s sweet voice and great vibes, Design Matters is one of the most wonderful design related podcasts out there. Featuring interviews with a range of leaders in design, art, interior design, industrial design, the stories that emerge from Debbie’s questions are thought provoking and the responses cause us to hunger for more in all aspects of design.

3. TED talks

We can’t get past the ultimate source of listening inspiration and creative insights. TED talks give us inspiration, compassion and cause us to learn more about others, and in the process, cause us to learn more about ourselves. Having a range of topics and a range of different and unique speakers, there’s something unique for every individual. When we’re ready to get stuck into some serious work, we plug in our headphones and load a playlist from TED and we’re good to go.

4. Bancroft Bros Animation Podcast

A podcast run by animation twins Tony and Tom Bancroft. These clever fun loving twins have worked on some of our favourite disney classics such as Mulan and the Lion King. The podcast features interviews with wonderful members of the animation industry, covering tips for young creatives and incredible behind the scenes stories from some of your favourite disney films. The podcasts are peppered with humour, industry insights and disney secrets. We highly recommend starting with the Glen Keanne podcast where the twins interview the famed animator (who worked on the Beast, Ariel and Tarzan) with a mix of admiration, humour and a slight touch of appropriate “fan girling”.

Those are just a few of our favourite podcasts, and we hope that you get the chance to have a listen and enjoy them as much as we do. It’s honestly one of our favourite ways to relax, chill and help our minds settle on our design/photography/art. If you have any other podcast recommendations, please leave a comment below, we would love to hear them! Or if you do listen to one of our recommended podcasts, let us know what you thought of them. 🙂
